I wish I could see your face
And count your little toes,
I wish you I could embrace
And kiss your tiny nose.
I wish I could see your smile
And tickle your sweet chin,
I wish you were mine awhile
To feel your baby skin.

Looking back, it was such a basic poem . . all my broken heart could manage at the time. . . and all I felt there on that paper
