Thankfulness Sunday School Class

Years ago I taught a Sunday School class. The theme one Wednesday was being thankful for and kind to those around us. To help the children develop this habit each was to think of a church member and something they really appreciated about that person. These thoughts were written down and posted in the dining hall. When classes were over and the adults came down for dinner there were lovely notes about how much the children loved each of them and why. The children learned to express their appreciation for others and also see the delight that simple act of kindness can bring the recipient.

As I walked through Hobby Lobby a few days ago I saw this pack of note cards that could be used similarly and couldn’t resist the purchase. I no longer teach so may use these at home. . . maybe a wall where we post our blessings . . or maybe I’ll make a Joshua Tree.
