Hi there . . glad you’re back to visit. The other day I was thinking about the 1000 Marble Challenge and Matt’s jug of stones, marbles, super balls, etc and a thought occured to me . . .
I have been praying for my future husband for approx 176 weeks. Sometimes fasting too.
What if I made a jug like the one I use to help me to remember to make every week with Matt count?
{from birth to age 18 we have 936 weeks to make a difference in how our children see God and how they influence the world. . .from birth until they move out we have, on average, 1000 weeks . . that is a preciously short amount of time with our babies}
What if I made a promise to my future husband to always pray for him .. through dirty socks and underwear on the floor. . anniversaries. . flu . . crying babies . . lean years . .
This is what is in my future husband’s Prayer Jug looks like so far .. . tiny symbols of my prayers for him . .
But a Prayer Jug could have so many different things in it . . .
Depending on who it’s for you could use buttons (fancy, certain colors . .), coins from around the world, gold dollars, Legos, keys, collectible postage stamps . . really, the possibilities are endless!!
For your child’s Prayer Jug include items that will bring back memories. . you can gift the jug to them when they move out or add to it until you die then they inherit it . .
You could also make a Prayer Jug for all the folks who send you mail .. Simply remove the return address label and pop it into the jug then pray for that person/family until the next arrives!
And for a spouse?
Well, I am having fun setting this up for him. It will be a small part of my wedding present to him . . a gift of taking time to pray for him and to seek God as to what I should be praying. Then, over our lifetime together, I can add to the jug . . daily or weekly . . . probably daily as I love to pray for him!!
So . .
Here is my challenge to you:
Go make a Prayer Jug . .
Then write about it and link back to this post!! πππ
