Hey There!!

Thought I’d do a quick update/briefing.. yes, I’ve been somewhat AWOL.. I do schedule posts ahead as much as possible so it’s not always apparent to all you sweet friends that I’m missing.

About two weeks ago I fell really hard onto my right knee on a concrete floor. With us still trying to move/sort/throw away we have excess clutter. This clutter encroached into the walkway and I tripped. … Now I have water on my knee. 🥺 Besides that wonderfulness, when I walk upstairs something catches in my knee joints.. ugh 😫.. somewhat painful but really really annoying.. I mean seriously stop slowing me down and get out of my knee joint annoying… 😒

I went to the ER and have an appointment with an orthopedic surgeon Tuesday morning. And the Dr really honestly cared how I was doing.. yes, great DRs really do exist!! They gave me 800mg ibuprofen… Helps but not enough.. great for inflammation.. I have a super high threshold for pain but there are many days I’m hurting to the point of nausea and a severe stomach ache by bedtime.. 🥺

So, yes, I’m doing “suck it up buttercup” as we have to keep going .. we have so much positive ahead of us and can’t just stop now.. I have to pay bills and keep a roof over our heads..

All this said, please bear with me if I’m AWOL off/on..

  1. So sorry to hear this. I have very crappy knees myself. I know what you are going through. Ice/Heat/Ice and elevate it. Ice it for about 20 minutes, then let it rest a bit, apply heat for about 20 minutes, and let it rest, then finish with ice again for about 20 minutes. Also practice RICE – R-rest; I-Ice; C-Compression; E-Elevate. I know these both from personal experience and from being a swim coach and a water aerobics instructor for many years.
